How Do You Make A Knife Sharpening Jig
In this DIY episode Im making knife sharpening jig which fits Taidea sharpening whetstones.
How do you make a knife sharpening jig. Its made out of scarp material and Im using only simple tools. I cut a shallow rabbet in it for the blade to fit into and used five wood screws to fasten it to the jig. Made of scrap materials it is well-crafted and the screws were built in a way to make the angles adjustable.
Once your work rest is set to 90 to the belt hold your knife against the angled face and apply the knife to the belt to produce a consistent bevel. You wont go wrong when using an efficiently made jig to hold your knife sharpening. I can also move it around to accommodate blades of different widths and thicknesses.

The blade can be clamped at the tang area and you can drill a 116 pin anyhwer on the other side to keep blade level. I clamped a small portable vise over the long end of the wooden T and over the table top to secure that end of the jig. It is 12 long 1-12 wide and 12 thick.
